Local man reports gun, jewelry theft

TAHLEQUAH — A Tahlequah man spoke to police on Thursday to report that someone broke into his home sometime on Dec. 19. Terry Matthews told police investigators that an unknown suspect entered his N. Vinita residence through an unlocked, east window near the front door and stole a handgun and several pieces of jewelry.

The firearm was described to be a Bernadelli model 60 handgun.

In another similar incident, Tahlequah Pawn spoke to law officials on Dec. 20 to notify them that the glass on the front door of the business was discovered broken following what’s believe to have been an attempt to break into the store early Wednesday morning. A rock used to break the glass was found while entry into the business was not achieved, according to the report.

Della Davis filed a vandalism report on Dec. 20 to tell police that her vehicle had been egged during the night. The report indicated Davis believes the suspects reside in her neighborhood on Della Drive.

Chris Wright filed a theft report on Dec. 20 after discovering his Wisteria Lane residence had been broken into some on Dec. 19. The only item reported missing was Wright’s X-Box video game console.

Robert Cox, 46, of Pryor was taken into police custody on Dec. 20 for DUI drugs after being involved in a two-car collision.
