Domestic nets arrest

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man this week after dispatchers received a report of a physical domestic in progress.

John H. Girdner, 49, of Park Hill, was booked for public intoxication and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Deputies said Girdner was standing in a field waving his arms and screaming in a “drunken rage.” After his arrest, Girdner reportedly told a deputy he would get out of jail by Wednesday and be back in by Thursday because he would return to the scene of his arrest and “hurt” the people who reported him.

In other matters, deputies spoke recently to administrators at Hulbert Public Schools, who said they are investigating a student who allegedly has shown pornographic images on his cell phone to other students.

Larry Presson filed a report Tuesday after an unidentified suspect stole several items from his driveway.

Caroline Buffalomeat reported being pushed and punched in the face Tuesday.

Christina Moore spoke to deputies Tuesday about her debit card being stolen and used at several places.

Kevin Windsor filed a report this week after he noticed money being withheld from his paycheck for unknown reasons.

Jennifer Havenar filed a report after she tried to order a swing set online using a prepaid money card. The swing was never received, and the website is now inactive, Havenar said. She told deputies the original advertisement for the swing was posted on Craigslist.com.

Robert Vance reported a 47-inch TV stolen from his house Monday.
