Sheriff's Beat - Embezzlement reported

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies took an embezzlement report Wednesday.

Scott Switzer filed the report on behalf of a family member. Switzer said the victim’s credit and debit cards have apparently been used without permission. Fraud investigators from Visa notified Switzer of the issue, and said one suspect attempted to have the credit card’s pin number changed.

In other matters, Dan Hammond told deputies recently that a woman stole his insurance check and also took money out of his bank account.

Deputies filed a report recently after a 7-year-old girl was bitten by a canine.
