Woman reports scam

TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police took a Monday after a woman was the victim of an attempted scam.

The woman said she received an email on a paid-to-drive concept that said an energy drink company was seeking people who could make $300 a week. The woman said she got a check for $1,530, and was asked to return some of the money to a California address. Her bank told her the check was fraudulent.

Police arrested Martin L. Proctor, 46, of Tahlequah, for driving under the influence early Tuesday morning.

Renay Mickel reported being threatened Saturday.

Christopher Rogers told police his vehicle was struck by another Thursday afternoon, and the other vehicle quickly sped away.

Police said they responded to Tahlequah City Hospital Sunday morning to speak with Donald Dangerfield, who had reportedly been assaulted with an edged object. Police said he was uncooperative as they tried to gather details.

Angela Gritts told police Sunday an intruder broke into her house and took a black LG cell phone.
