Two critically injured in crash south of Tahlequah

TAHLEQUAH — Two people were listed in critical condition early Tuesday morning after a Monday evening crash on U.S. Highway 62 south of Tahlequah.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the driver of a 2005 Ford Mustang, 31-year-old Marion Michael Cypert, of Muskogee, was driving east when the vehicle left the road for an unknown reason, struck a curb, hit a fence, then ran into a parked truck.

Cypert was transported by medical helicopter to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa with head injuries.

A passenger, 29-year-old Jill Lynn Fanning, of Oktaha, was also taken by helicopter to St. Francis in Tulsa, where she was being treated for internal injuries to her body.

According to the OHP, Cypert smelled of alcohol.

The cause of the crash is listed as exceeding the legal limit.
