A Tahlequah man who referred to himself as the “party monster,” according to police, was arrested Halloween night for public intoxication and possession of methamphetamine.
Tahlequah Officer Edgar Lucero said he was waved down by Jerry Dewayne Take, 48, last Thursday evening near College and Ross. Lucero spoke with Take, who appeared to be intoxicated.
Take smelled of alcohol, slurred his words and was swaying back and forth, Lucero said. He allegedly admitted to drinking alcohol earlier in the day.
Take was arrested and taken to the city jail for public intoxication. During a search of Take, officers allegedly found a small zip-lock bag with a crystal substance that tested positive as methamphetamine.
Take was then taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center.
