Deputies arrest woman after attack on another

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman over the weekend after she allegedly attacked a woman.

Sarah Nicole Hartley, 32, of Tahlequah, was booked for aggravated assault and battery. Deputy Josh Girdner said Hartley admitted she had been drinking and assaulted Rebecca Velazquez. Velazquez was bleeding from the face when deputies arrived, and said Hartley began punching her in the face when she declined to let Hartley stay at her house.

Sheldon Foreman reported the theft of property last Friday, and told deputies the suspect was caught on camera.

Lonnie Dobson reported a trailer stolen from the Hulbert area recently. Dobson said the trailer is 5-foot by 10-foot with a 1-inch sideboard tubing and bent tongue.

Christie Skaggs filed an information report Friday.

David Young reported the theft of items from his truck.

Karl Keltner reported a burglary last Thursday.

Dainna Clayton filed a report on behalf of a family member Sunday after a cast iron stove was stolen.

Carissa Taylor told deputies she was assaulted recently.

Velna Vanbuskirk told deputies a copper line was cut on her air conditioning unit recently.

Anna Davis reported her mobile home damaged after a 7-year-old stolen the mobile home park manager’s golf cart and caused the damage.
