Driver arrested, found passed out behind wheel

TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police arrested a local man Wednesday evening after responding to a report of a driver slumped over a steering wheel.

Police said Bradley J. Mouse, 28, was passed out in a vehicle near East Downing and the bypass. Officers had to open the door to wake up Mouse and remove him. He was arrested for being intoxicated and was taken to jail.

Elizabeth E. Thompson, 34, of Tahlequah, was arrested Wednesday for stealing merchandise from Walmart, as well as criminal trespassing.

Brian Jumper, 21, of Tahlequah, was arrested Wednesday for shoplifting at Walmart.

Employees at Reasor’s filed a report Tuesday after a woman concealed items in her purse and attempted to leave the store without paying. Employees confronted her, and she dropped the items and ran.

Officers took a report from Hertz Vehicles LLC after a client failed to return a rental vehicle. The suspect had rented the vehicle through Stuteville Ford in November but failed to return it, until employees found the vehicle had been left at the Ford dealership sometime this week.

Sheryl Hansen spoke with officers last week about being defrauded.

Evan Kurtz called police this week after he awoke and saw a man dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt run out of his apartment. The suspect had Kurtz’s laptop, and when Kurtz chased the person, he dropped the laptop. The burglar also stole medications, Kurtz reported.

Billy White reported a stolen car tag Wednesday.

Tyler Teague spoke with officers this week after a jar of change was stolen from his house.
