TAHLEQUAH — The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department investigated a death Wednesday after responding to a 911 call.

The fiancee of Anthony Bryan Allen, 50, called to report she heard a noise and found Allen lying on the floor between the bedroom and bathroom. She told Deputy Bob Lewandowski that Allen was undergoing radiation and chemotherapy for cancer, and had complained of discomfort following his treatment Wednesday. First responders and EMTs were unable to revive Allen, and the medical examiner ordered his release to a funeral home.

Deputies visited Thursday with Michelle Renee Phifer, who reported the theft of three rings.

Deputies also took a report Monday from a woman who stated her uncle, in conversations with third parties, threatened physical violence against her and her mother.
