Warrant issued in firearm case

TAHLEQUAH — A judge on Thursday issued an arrest warrant for a Tahlequah man accused of pointing a shotgun at a woman and threatening her earlier this month.

Brian Edmond Osburn, 48, is charged with feloniously pointing a firearm. Prosecutors allege Osburn threatened Wanda Puckett with the gun on April 5, and intended to intimidate her.

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputy Raymond Hendricks spoke with Puckett on Old Toll Gate Road. According to Puckett, Osburn had been warned not to come back to her property, but he allegedly showed up at the garage carrying a side-by-side shotgun.

Osburn allegedly threatened Puckett while pointing the gun at her, and told her to “watch [her] back.”

Deputies attempted to find Osburn, but could not immediately track him down when the report was first made.
