Sheriff's Beat: Area man arrested after admitting meth use

TAHLEQUAH — A Muskogee man was arrested this week after admitting to deputies he had used methamphetamine.

Deputies said they responded after 51-year-old Richard David Major claimed he was being followed by two men in ghillie suits, which are camouflaged clothing designed to resemble foliage, and are often used by soldiers or hunters. Major told deputies the men where wearing skeleton masks and were trying to kill him. Deputies said Major appeared nervous and paranoid and was having uncontrollable body twitches. He allegedly admitted he had used “a quarter paper of meth” and said it had never had such an effect on him before. Major was booked for public intoxication of drugs.

In other matters, Anthony Griffith reported the theft of a trailer this week.

Deputies took a report from Johnson Perry Church about the theft of three air units this week.

Michael McClure told deputies a known suspect has been dumping trash on his property.

Vergena Taylor reported the theft of a credit card Monday.

Victoria Moore filed a threats report Tuesday.

Luggie Brackett filed a threats report this week.

Maria Mannon reported the theft of a phone recently.

Laverda Bohamon told deputies about an assault Tuesday.

A report was filed this week after a stolen truck was recovered.

Robert Buckworth filed a burglary report last week.

Candice Andrews filed an assaulted report Monday.
