Man jailed for assault

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Missouri man Thursday for an alleged assault.

Police said Lee Micah Kinningsworth, 37, of Belton, Mo., assaulted a woman and a child. He allegedly choked a girl so much she could barely breath.

In other matters, a report was filed on a theft of wrestling DVDs from Don Blackbird’s home. A suspect was reportedly attempting to sell the DVDs to other people, and when confronted, said he’d found the DVDs.

Terry Doby on Friday spoke to deputies about someone taking a cook stove and electric meter.

A report was filed last week by Stormie Brackett after vehicle tires were stolen. The tires were later seen on another vehicle, and the driver of that vehicle reportedly said she’d purchased them from someone else for $150.
