Police Beat: Man nabbed for theft from Walmart

TAHLEQUAH — Police arrested a local man Wednesday after he allegedly stole from Walmart and ran.

Joe D. Alberty, 26, of Tahlequah, was booked for petit larceny, trespassing and possession of paraphernalia. Police said they found Alberty running across Muskogee Avenue and escorted him back to Walmart, where he was pinpointed as the suspect.

Alicia Luethje, 33, of Tahlequah, was arrested Wednesday evening for allegedly shoplifting from Dollar General on Downing Street.

Jeffrey Porter, 23, of Hulbert, was arrested last week after a crash on College Street. Police said Porter struck a vehicle, backed up, and struck the vehicle again.
