TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies continue to take reports of large air units being stolen.

Churches have been a recent target of the thieves. Members of the Blue Springs General Baptist Church, north of Tahlequah, filed a report last week when they discovered a five-ton air unit had been stolen from outside the church. Deputies said the breaker had been pulled out and it appears a saw was used to cut the wires.

Wanda Carsons filed a home burglary report last week and said a safety deposit box with money and important documents was stolen.

Linda Lear reported her credit card being used fraudulently. Lear said the card was used at Walmart in Wagoner, and employees there have identified the suspect.

Sutteer Voeller filed an information report last week.

Ashley Echols filed a threats report Thursday.

Carl Duffy reported the theft of firearms Wednesday.

Douglas Maher told deputies several coins have been stolen from his house in recent weeks.
