Sheriff Report: Traffic stop leads to arrest


TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a local man over the weekend after a traffic stop.

Kyle Allen Palmer, 28, Tahlequah, was booked for driving under the influence. Deputies said Palmer had a breath-alcohol content of .08.

Deputies took a report from Ernie Son last week about the theft of a red Honda 100 CCR dirt bike.

Alan Goff reported the theft of a 16-foot trailer.

Teddie Watkins reported the theft of a 5-by-10-foot red, tilt trailer Monday.

Dale Littlefield reported a silver ring missing this week. LIttlefield told deputies the ring is engraved with “Dave,” and was taken during a home burglary.

Deputies took a report after a big-screen TV, stereo, horse tack and jewelry were taken from Chuck Bunch.

Brianna Luethje told deputies a man refused to allow her to leave her apartment, and later struck her in the back before choking her.

Betty Hannah reported a 2004 flatbed trailer stolen last week. The trailer had wood rails around the sides.

Robert Fisher told deputies a man kicked his vehicle and slapped him. When Fisher tried to leave, the man threw a hatchet at the grill of Fisher’s car, and the weapon busted the radiator.

Pamela Carter reported the violation of a protective order Saturday.

Jacob Nicholson filed a harassment report last week.

Allen Steed reported the theft of an XBox One.
