Police Beat - Arrest made for assault

TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah Police arrested David P. Oksoktaruk and transported him to the city jail on Friday on an allegation of simple assault by Jim Hullinger. Officers had responded to reports of a disturbance on North Bliss Avenue.

On Friday, officers responded to a complaint from the Walmart Supercenter of a suspect stealing shelving from behind the store. The suspect fled before police arrived and is described as a white male driving a black extended cab Dodge pickup with an Oklahoma tag.

Kaleigh J. Starling was stopped Friday for allegedly avoiding a traffic control device and arrested for under-21 driving under the influence.

At Reasor's on Thursday, Bryan Hooper was arrested for allegedly stealing a pair of sunglasses.

Stephanie Kirk entered the police station on Thursday and reported that she needed to file an information report for insurance purposes.

On Monday, Becky L. McDaniel filed a report alleging she was being stalked by her ex-husband.
