Police Beat: Tahlequah man arrested after traffic stop

TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police arrested a local man early Monday morning after a traffic stop near Fox and State.

Matthew T. McAlvain, 29, of Tahlequah, was arrested for an outstanding warrant, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.

Cody P. Begovich, 19, of Garnerville, Nev., was arrested for driving under the influence and transporting an open container Sunday. Police said Begovich’s breath-alcohol content was .25. A passenger, 20-year-old Kevin D. Cook, of Fort Gibson, was also arrested.

Fanci D. Robertson, 29, of Tahlequah, was arrested Saturday for DUI after a traffic stop near Fourth and State.

Stephen Lowe, 19, Tahlequah, was arrested along with a juvenile Saturday morning when officers spotted the two walking behind a building at Tahlequah High School after 1 a.m. Both were drunk, police said. Lowe allegedly lied about his name and age, and was booked into jail while the juvenile was cited and released to a guardian.

Amy L. Nunez, 35, of Tahlequah, and Stacey A. Coronado, 40, of Tahlequah, were both arrested Sunday for allegedly shoplifting from Walmart.

Deanne Lowery told police she recently discovered a credit card number had been stolen and used to make several unauthorized purchases in Tahlequah, Muskogee, and Stilwell.

Deborah Rader filed a report Saturday when her home was burglarized.

Adam Snow told police Saturday about his vehicle being vandalized with ice cream.

Collin Downs filed a threats report Sunday.
