Peggs man jailed for having meth and pot

TAHLEQUAH — A Peggs man jailed early Friday morning for possessing methamphetamine and marijuana is free on a $6,000 bond.

Shane Leon Wilson, 40, was stopped by Tahlequah Officer Cory Keele near Fourth Street and the bypass. Wilson told Keele he had a paper driver’s license, but he was unable to produce it. Dispatchers told Keele Wilson’s license had been suspended for a compliance violation on child support.

Keele deployed canine officer Bo around Wilson’s vehicle. While Wilson and two passengers stood outside, Bo gave Keele a positive alert near the driver’s door and again near the passenger’s door. Under the driver’s seat, Keele found a white bag with a green, leafy substance inside it. More searching led Keele to a bag of methamphetamine in a plastic cigar container in the driver’s-side door.

Keele said he seized the meth and marijuana as evidence and booked Wilson into jail for driving under suspension, possession of meth, and possession of marijuana.
