Sheriff's Beat: Woman arrested after assault report logged

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman last week after an assault report. Candace Goddin, 49, of Tahlequah, was arrested for domestic assault and battery.

Deputies spoke with Perry Jordan recently after his Polaris Ranger was stolen, along with a rifle, scope, ice chest, tools and other items.

Stephen Adelson filed a burglary report last week after discovering his lake home and shop had been burglarized. Adelson said lamps, a stereo, speakers, a cedar chest, women’s clothing, a rocking chair, a foot stool, a lawn mower, a wood splitter, and a 16-foot flat bed trailer were all taken.

Employees at Dollar General in Cookson told deputies a man entered the store and left without paying for a DVD player.

Deputies took a report recently when a 7-year-old boy was bitten by a pit bulldog.

Scott Stewart filed a report last week after a home burglary. Stewart said several items were taken, including a window air conditioner, stainless-steel refrigerator, stainless-steel freezer, and charcoal grill.
