A 24-year-old Tahlequah man was jailed last week after a homeowner found him sitting on her porch playing a guitar and claiming he had been talking to people in “outer space.”
Deputy Travis Miller said he responded to North 512 Road last week and met with the homeowner, who was inside her van when Miller arrived.
The woman pointed Miller to Michael Carpenter, who was on the porch. According to Miller, Carpenter claimed he had spoken to “Thor,” and didn’t know how he got to where he was.
Miller found a syringe in one of Carpenter’s pockets, and Carpenter said he was a diabetic.
When Miller asked Carpenter what type of diabetic he is, Carpenter allegedly said type “three.”
Miller said he found a plastic bag containing a clear liquid inside Carpenter’s bag. He also found a bent metal spoon and a bag of syringes. Carpenter allegedly denied knowing what any of the items were for.
After finding the items, Miller said he asked Carpenter about the spoon, and Carpenter replied, “Moses is coming back.”
“I asked what that had to do with a spoon,” Miller wrote on his arrest report. “[Carpenter] responded, ‘The radio told me.’”
Carpenter was booked into jail for public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.
