Pair jailed for public intox

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested two people over the weekend after a disturbance call involving alcohol and synthetic substances.

Corey Bryant, 26, of Tahlequah, was booked for assault and battery on a police officer, public intoxication, resisting arrest, and obstruction; and Kara Lowery, 23, was booked for obstructing, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer. Deputies said they attempted to arrest Bryant and he fought with them and refused to comply. Lowery, his girlfriend, tried to grab a deputy as he was placing Bryant into handcuffs. Deputies said Lowery was also able to slip out of one cuff and ran at deputies, telling them to let Bryant go. She later told officers she and Bryant had been drinking alcohol and smoking synthetic cannabinoids,.

Josh Littledave told deputies the outside of his vehicle was scratched with a key this week.

Jennifer Denney reported a vehicle burglary this week, and told deputies nothing was taken. Denney’s neighbors were also victims of a vehicle burglary and had property stolen.

Katrina Evington reported the theft of a Steelcraft 1300-watt generator this week.

Chantalle Siegel reported an assault Monday.

Brittany Childs filed a harassment report this week.

Teri Bird filed a fraud report Monday.
