Police Beat - Local man nabbed in wake of assault


TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police arrested a local man Monday night after an assault at Cherokee Hills Apartments.

Ricky G. Mitchell Jr., 37, was booked for assault and battery, destruction of private property, public intoxication and resisting arrest.

In other matters, police arrested 23-year-old Claremore resident Johnathon Tyler Dudley Tuesday morning at about 2:25 after he was allegedly spotted loading plants from Lowe’s into the back of his car. Dudley was booked for petit larceny.

Jennifer Fields told police this week she received threatening and harassing phone calls and text messages from an ex-boyfriend.

Dustin Woods reported fishing poles stolen Monday.

Kristen McClanahan filed an information report Sunday.

Dustin Fore reported a stolen bicycle Sunday, and officers said the bike was later recovered from a juvenile.

Chelsen Hood told police Monday that his vehicle was burglarized and a pistol was stolen.

Brenda Hamon told police Monday that her truck was burglarized.

Jennifer Robinson reported a missing or stolen phone Monday.

Members of First Baptist Church spoke to police this week about money being stolen.

Olga Leeper reported violation of a protective order Monday.

Anna Thompson told police that some items were stolen out of her vehicle Monday.
