Police Beat: Tahlequah man nabbed for assault

TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police officers arrested a local man Monday afternoon when he allegedly took part in an assault.

Jay D. Alberty, 26, of Tahlequah, allegedly assaulted Gregory White at the Cherokee Hills Apartments. Alberty and a second suspect fled the area before police arrived, but Alberty was eventually located and taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center.

Police arrested Clinton S. Keys, 44, of Tahlequah, Monday evening for driving under the influence.

Justin Fourkiller, 29, was arrested last week for shoplifting from Walmart.

Two juveniles were arrested Sunday evening at Walmart when they tried to leave the retailer without paying for merchandise.

Cortny Warren filed a report Monday after rock and stone were stolen from her back yard.

Employees at Walmart spoke with police Sunday after a customer presented a “suspicious” $5 bill.

Security officers at Hastings Hospital spoke with officers Monday after drug paraphernalia was found.
