Man reports theft of flat-bed trailer

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies took a report Thursday after a 16-foot flatbed trailer was stolen.

Glen Porter said he allowed a family member to borrow the trailer, and an unknown suspect later took it.

Randy Barngrover spoke with deputies this week about the violation of a protective order. Barngrover said the suspect sent her a “friend” request on Facebook, even though a protective order is in place.

Deputies filed a report this week after a man and woman said their 15-year-old daughter became “very violent.” The parents had marks on them from an altercation with the girl, who also attempted to run away. Deputies said they have dealt with the same teen several times.

State officials with the Office of Juvenile Affairs told deputies they could provide no assistance in the matter, and recommended the teen be taken to a hospital for evaluation.

In other matters, Debbie Jones filed a burglary report this week, and told deputies items belonging to her and her parents were taken from a home.
