Man makes threat with hammer

TAHLEQUAH — A 30-year-old Tahlequah man was jailed last week when he allegedly attacked two men with a hammer.

Timothy Barr was booked into jail for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and three counts of making terroristic threats. According to Officer Cody Warren’s affidavit, Mitch DeRoin and Tyler Williamson went to Barr’s residence on York Street to ask  Barr if he could keep his friends from walking through their yard.

When DeRoin knocked on the door of Barr’s home, Barr allegedly produced a hammer, struck DeRoin on the head with it, then took DeRoin to the ground. Williamson tried to assist DeRoin, but Barr swung the hammer and hit Williamson above his left eye.

Barr allegedly followed the victims when they escaped and threatened to kill several people.

Booking records show Barr was given a $30,000 bond and released.
