Cherokee County deputies make several alcohol-related arrests

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a local woman on New Year’s Eve for public drunk.

Deputies said Tammy Cook-Jenson, 43, of Tahlequah, was staggering down the road near Garner Trailer Park.

Shawna Anne McChristian, 32, of Tahlequah, was arrested this week for assault and battery, public intoxication, obstruction and eluding. McChristian allegedly refused to give her name and date of birth to deputies.

In other matters, deputies took a report from Ginger Shubin this week about the theft of a laptop.

Deborah Turner reported her earrings stolen this week.

Floyd Ferguson reported a storage building was burglarized recently and the suspect took a Stihl chainsaw, a power saw, a Stihl brush cutter, fuel, and a rick of wood.

Cynthia Kirkhart said a man entered her home and attacked her Tuesday.

Pamela Carter reported the violation of a protective order on Wednesday.

Employees of Cherokee County District 3 filed a report Thursday morning when they discovered a barn had been burglarized and a truck was gone. Employees said the back garage door had been forced open and a white, 2006 F-350 flatbed was gone. The truck has a red tank in the back that had approximately 275 gallons of diesel in it. The truck also has a 12-inch lightbar on top, and a county tag of 228-646.

Deputies filed a death-investigation report Tuesday on Mike L. Germay, 57, of Tahlequah. His manner of death is listed as unknown in the report.
