Pot found in teen’s room

TAHLEQUAH — County sheriff’s deputies recovered marijuana plants and other items while taking a runaway report last week.

Deputy Kim Novak spoke to a 15-year-old boy’s mother who said the teenager took $250 and ran away. The woman said the teen had been taking property from vehicles and smoking marijuana, and refused to take his prescribed medications.

The woman asked deputies to remove some beer from the teen’s room. While the woman was in the room, she looked through the closet and found two potted plants, believed to be marijuana, along with a fluorescent light above them.

Deputies said they also recovered a pill bottle, a GPS device, and a pipe with residue. They also took a backpack with 15 unopened beers from the teen’s room.
