Man jailed for making threats


TAHLEQUAH — A Fort Gibson man was arrested Tuesday after threatening harm to another.

Anthony Weyant, 23, was booked for threatening to perform an act of violence and public intoxication. Deputies said Weyant threatened to slice someone’s throat if police were called over an argument, and admitted he had consumed several shots of tequila.

Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies spoke to a woman recently after a child was given marijuana.

The woman said her son was given marijuana while he was playing basketball with someone else. She said she didn’t know about it until school officials found it and called her.

In other matters, Alicia Felts said someone broke into her vehicle and took a pair of sunglasses recently.

Allen Gibbs reported being threatened this week.

Jason Wolfe told deputies this week that someone stole a 2005 Honda 450R four-wheeler.

Christy Smith filed an information report Tuesday.

Rhonda Thompson spoke to deputies this week about being grabbed by the neck and choked.

Ricky Hockett filed an information report Wednesday after someone signed up for a pre-paid cell phone account with his name.

Richard Ellyson told deputies recently that a TIC Energy & Chemical company trailer was taken sometime between Dec. 19 and Dec. 21.
