Man jailed after entering residence

TAHLEQUAH — A Fort Gibson man was booked into jail Wednesday morning after allegedly going into a residence uninvited.

Police responded to East Downing when Valerie Garza said a man vandalized her vehicle, entered her apartment without consent, and refused to leave after being told to. Authorities later located the suspect – 20-year-old Jeffery A. Melton – and arrested him.

In other matters, employees at the Scholars Inn told police recently that three children visited the pool to swim and when they left, several pieces of pool equipment were broken.

Comfort Inn employees spoke to police Monday about a customer who checked out without paying his or her bill in full.

Christina Balderas told police a man has violated a protective order several times recently.
