Police respond to report of suicide


TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police responded Tuesday to a report of a suicide attempt.

The incident report states that when officers arrived at the scene on East Downing Street, EMTs were already on site and advised that Eugene B. Vance, 44, of Tahlequah was dead. Officers requested detectives to investigate.

On Friday, a woman requested assistance from police and followed an officer to the station, where she reported she had suffered long-term abuse from her husband. The woman was assisted by Help-In-Crisis.

While investigating a report of a stolen fern from Reasor’s on Thursday, officers located the suspect vehicle, a gold Ford Impala, leaving a Dollar General and initiated a traffic stop, during which the suspect threw the fern out the passenger door. Police arrested Henry J. Dye of Tahlequah on suspicion of petit larceny.

Police took a report of attempted fraud from Brianne Keller on Thursday.

Trae A. Cordell and a person not named were turned over to police custody by Walmart Loss Prevention and booked on suspicion of petit larceny.

At the Walmart SuperCenter on Thursday, police took a complaint from a woman who said she and her children were being harassed by a group of women.

A man visited the department on Thursday to report that an individual was harassing him in person and by phone.

On Thursday, a complaint was filed at the Tahlequah Police Department on behalf of United Methodist Children’s Home of the theft of three bicycles and a George Foreman grill.

Police took a report Thursday at the department from Frank J. Erickson, who reported the theft of a olive green compound bow case with a Martin Buckminster bow and 20 Easton arrows.

On Wednesday, police responded to a request for assistance from Ki Bois Head Start for a child whose mother had not arrived for pickup. The officer was advised that six calls had been made to the mother, then to other family members, with no answer.

A report was taken Wednesday at the TPD from Maribel Sandoval, who reported a burglarized automobile on Shawnee Street.

Officers responded to a report of an assault on Teehee Drive on Tuesday. A woman reported she had been assaulted by two suspects and stolen her vehicle. Police determined the vehicle was registered to one of the suspects.

On Monday, officers took a report of a stolen vehicle from Teressa A. Self of Tahlequah and Jackie Doshier of Locust Grove. The 1993 Jeep Cherokee was taken from a residence on Turney Avenue. The tag number is 877BAO and the vehicle was entered into the National Crime Information Center.
