Ice rink area vandalized

TAHLEQUAH — City employees called police Tuesday morning when they discovered vandalism at the site of the ice rink near Norris Park.

Police said employees with the recreation department discovered a line of lights had been pulled down from poles and nine light bulbs had been broken.

In other matters, police filed a report Tuesday when a juvenile shoplifted a soda and other items at Walmart. The child was detained and turned over to his guardian.

Police spoke with Linda Payton Tuesday when she reported receiving harassing phone calls and text messages.
