Possible child abuse reported to deputies

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies are investigating two separate cases of possible child abuse.

One report was filed after a 4-year-old boy was reportedly kicked in the back by a man and thrown onto a bed. Deputies said they have spoken with the people involved in the case.

A second report indicates a 2-year-old child may be the victim of some sort of child abuse. The Department of Human Services is investigating that case after the child was taken to a hospital.

In other matters, deputies took a report from Sara Stewart this week about the violation of a protective order.

Jehan Pritchett filed a report this week after she went into a convenience store and her 2006 Mazda was stolen. Pritchett said she left her keys in the car when she went into the store. The car is red and has an Oklahoma tag of 504-61C.

Caroline Buffalomeat told deputies recently that her front door was kicked in and various items were stolen, including a Verizon Internet jack and clothing.

Marsha Cariker spoke with police after a man kicked in the front door of her home.
