Wagoner man jailed for public intoxication


TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Wagoner man Monday on charges of public drunk.

Clifford Wayne Cartwright, 32, was arrested near Tri-B Nursery after deputies responded to a man reportedly trying to break in at the business.

Robert Cary spoke to deputies Monday about reckless handling of a firearm. Cary said a neighbor had been shooting a gun, and the bullets were flying over his head.

The suspect told deputies he was shooting the shotgun at a target, and didn’t intend to shoot at or near his neighbor. Deputies confiscated the gun because the suspect had a previous felony conviction.

Andrew Cummins, 43, of Tahlequah, was placed under citizens arrest Monday for assault and battery after he allegedly struck Michael Cullen in the face.

Jason Pritchett spoke to deputies Monday and said a PlayStation 3, XBox Kinect, and other items were stolen from his house.

Timothy Savage reported his dog being shot Tuesday.

Gloria Clinton reported receiving terroristic threats on Monday.

Aurora Cardoso-Osburn filed a dog-bite report Monday.

Andrea Smith reported theft of medication Monday.
