TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies took a report last week after several hunters’ belongings were stolen from a camp site.

John McKenzie said all but one cabin at the deer camp was burglarized. Dozens of items were stolen, including stands, a 13-inch flat screen TV, numerous pots and pans, bedding and sleeping bags, four coffee pots, small appliances, dozens of hunting movies, tool sets, and more. Property was also stolen sometime last September, McKenzie said.

In other matters, Evelyn Wyatt told deputies someone took money, ink pens, and other items from a vehicle, and also tore up important documents that were in the car this week.

Joshua Dry filed a report last week after he was assaulted. Dry said he was supposed to meet a woman, but three men showed up instead and asked him if he was there to meet her. One of them then used a flashlight to attack Dry, and continued assaulting him, he told deputies.
