Vehicle break-ins reported

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies have taken several reports this week after unknown suspects broke into vehicles.

Bradley McCormick filed a report after his vehicle was gone through, but nothing appeared to be taken. Deputies said the report was filed because of similar break-ins in the area, where larger items and credit cards were left behind, but smaller items were taken.

Melissa McColpin said a thief broke into a truck and stole her white iPod Touch.

Bea Daugherty reported a vehicle burglary this week and said cash was taken from her purse.

Amanda Hicks filed a report after unknown suspects broke into her vehicle and took an EOS Rebel T4I camera, a camera bag, a tripod, and extra camera lenses.

Alma Starks reported a theft to deputies this week.

Charles Conner filed a report Monday about the theft of several firearms.

Jimmie Goodnight filed a theft report Monday.

Loretta McLemore told deputies a tree was taken from her property last year, and she would like the guilty party to pay for replacement of the trees.

Marissa Solenberg reported a stolen 12-foot trailer this week.

Gene Frost told deputies a trailer was stolen from a home last week.

Staci Huntley reported violation of a protective order this week.

Deputies took a report this week after a couple attempted to sell a Harley Davidson online and were later caught up in a scam buy a suspect who expressed interest in buying the motorcycle. The victims said the scam involved a fake Pay Pal website.
