Police Beat: Several jailed for alcohol-related offenses


TAHLEQUAH — A Tahlequah woman was jailed early Monday morning after a traffic stop near Fourth Street and Muskogee Avenue.

Misty Spankowski, 41, was booked into jail for driving under the influence.

Kelli Johnson, 31, of Tahlequah, was arrested Saturday night for DUI after a traffic stop near Trimble and North streets.

Dakota Johnson, 24, of Siloam Springs, was arrested Friday for drug paraphernalia and a county warrant; and John M. Hayes, 29, of Tahlequah, was booked for a city warrant.

Christopher M. Sherrick, 25, of Longmont, Colo., was arrested last week for DUI, transporting an open container, and taxes due state. A passenger in Sherrick’s vehicle, 56-year-old Ruben I. Perez, of Tahlequah, was booked for public intoxication and transporting an open container.

Drew Scott, 26, of Tahlequah, was arrested last week for DUI.

Abraham Smith filed a theft report Friday.

Norma Henderson spoke with police last week about jewelry being stolen from her home.

Luther Franklin reported a disturbance Friday.

Officers filed a report Sunday after Evan J. Kurtz, 47, was found dead in his Tahlequah apartment. According to the report, Kurtz was under doctor’s care and home health care.
