Sheriff's Beat: Keys student found with marijuana

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies filed a report this week after a Keys High School student was found with marijuana and a pipe.

Deputy Bob Lewandowski said he received a report of two high school students smoking in a school bathroom. During the investigation, Lewandowski determined one of the students, a 15-year-old, had a small bag of weed and a smoking pipe inside a sock.

Thelma Robison told deputies she was threatened this week.

James Walter reported the theft of property this week. Walter told deputies his home burned and some property was later stored in the burned building. Some of those items were later taken.

A representative of Chase Prime reported the theft of copper wire at a home near Gideon.
