Sheriff's Beat: Woman reports bad phone buy

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies spoke to a woman last week who purchased a phone online and later learned it had been stolen.

The woman said she bought the phone for $25, and when she tried to have a wireless plan connected with the phone, she was told it had been reported lost or stolen. She later contacted the sellers and was told the phone was stolen.

Deputies arrested Victor Manuel Jimenez-Marquez, 24, of Muskogee, for driving under the influence, operating a vehicle without license, and transporting an open container.

Cody Pritchett, 23,  Tahlequah, was arrested Sunday for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

David Dale filed a vandalism report recently.

Daniel Lewis told deputies he was assaulted last week.

Donald Bowin reported the theft of medication Friday.

David Bass filed a burglary report Sunday.

Lori Steffy reported the theft of a vehicle tag, saddle, stereo and other items over the weekend.
