Four injured in crash

TAHLEQUAH — Four people were injured Sunday night when a 1979 Chevrolet truck rolled over near Peggs.

Troopers said they don’t know who was driving the truck, which was eastbound on 620 Road at a high rate of speed. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, when the truck went from paved road to gravel road, it fishtailed, left the road and slid down an embankment before rolling several times.

A 17-year-old boy from Locust Grove was ejected and taken to a Tahlequah hospital to be treated for head and internal injuries. Troopers said the boy, whose name was not released, was stable.

Calvin Fisher, 24, of Tahlequah, was listed in good condition with head and internal injuries; Larry Welch, 19, of Peggs, was admitted in stable condition with internal and arm injuries; and Samuel Fisher, 35, of Tahlequah, was admitted in stable condition with head injuries, troopers said.

Welch was the only person wearing a seat belt, troopers reported.
