Welling man reports theft

TAHLEQUAH — A Welling man spoke to sheriff’s deputies on Monday to report a theft at his residence.

Robert Mathews told investigators his red Kawasaki 300 Bayou four-wheeler was on his property March 7, but when he went to his barn to retrieve hay, he noticed the 4x4 all-terrain vehicle was missing. The four-wheeler is equipped with an orange toggle switch instead of an ignition switch, with nylon foot straps.

Frankie Walker filed a theft report March 25. Walker told law officials he had found a go-kart on the side of the road by the Tenkiller School sign in early February. The go-kart was fixed and stored at his Welling residence. Walker said he contacted the sheriff’s office when he found the go-kart and had possession of it for 30 days. Walker reported a known suspect saw Walker’s relative operating the go-kart and approached Walker about the vehicle, saying it belonged to him, and then took possession of the go-kart.

Sharon Bright reported harassment by a known suspect March 22. Bright told investigators she purchased some Park Hill property in January 2012, and the  suspect immediately began “ranting and raving” about the previous property owner and that person’s relatives. Bright said activity involving the suspect has gone on for a year, and that the suspect would wear a gun under his shirt or over his shoulder while declaring he has “video cameras everywhere” and records all his telephone conversations.  Bright noted the suspect has complained to her about issues from shared property maintenance to where she walks her leashed pets.
