Police Beat: Couple jailed for stealing gaming system

TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police arrested a Broken Arrow couple this week when they allegedly took a PlayStation 4 from Game Stop.

Randy J. Shell, 29, and Kate E. Shell, 27, were booked for felony larceny from a retailer and knowingly concealing stolen property.

Employees at Game Stop said Randy Shell paced back and forth while Kate Shell distracted an employee with questions. Randy Shell eventually picked up the game system and the couple left the store. Surveillance video showed Randy Shell pacing back and forth, touching the box the game was in and scooting it toward the door. He later placed it under his shirt and left, police said. Tahlequah detectives later spotted the suspects, and the two were booked into jail.

In other matters, Melanie S. Pritchett, 31, of Tahlequah, was arrested this week for driving under the influence.

Jacqueline Wolfe, 27, of Tahlequah, was arrested Tuesday for shoplifting at Wal-Mart.

Nathan D. Gonzalis, 19, of Stilwell, was arrested Tuesday for shoplifting from Wal-Mart.

Russell Patrick told police about a theft this week.
