Forged check passed to restaurant employees

TAHLEQUAH — Employees at Del Rancho spoke with police Tuesday about receiving a forged check.

Police were told the local restaurant received a stolen or forged check last month. The suspect is in the Cherokee County Detention Center for the theft of checks and other forged checks on the same account, police said.

In other matters, police spoke to Jessica Pratt Tuesday about harassment from a neighbor.

Morgan Hammond told police recently that the tag was stolen off of a Ford Explorer. The UKB tag number is E533.

Dorothy Degroot told police last week she was contacted by the IRS and told a suspect tried to use her information to file a fraudulent tax return.
