Police Beat - Man arrested for DUI after running stoplight


TAHLEQUAH — A Pawhuska man was taken into police custody on Tuesday on complaints of driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Stewart J. Conner, 20, was driving his 2007 Silver Dodge Ram pickup on Downing when he was observed driving through a red light at the intersection of Downing and Water Street. Police found the vehicle driving down Greenwood Drive, where Conner was pulled over, but not before Conner ran a stop sign at the intersection of Greenwood and Wilson.

Aaron Shepard, 26, of Tahlequah was arrested on April 28 complaints of domestic assault. A witnessed contacted police to report observing Shepard hit a female victim late Sunday night on West Fox Street.

Lahoma Bigby filed a theft report on April 28. Bigby said her white two-door 1988 Ford truck with Oklahoma tag number YBG605 was taken from Big B’s convenience store at 204 Dogwood around 4 p.m. on April 27.

Karri Locust filed a theft report April 28 to notify police that someone rifled through her purse and took money out of her wallet while she was at Mazzio’s around 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Teresa Rose filed a theft report April 27 to notify police that a trailer belonging to Cordell Rose was stolen from Cherokee County Customs around 4 p.m. Saturday.

A representative for the senior citizens organization on First Street reported fuel theft on April 29. The representative told police that a fence was discovered disturbed on April 26 and upon inspection of the vehicles, a bus was reported to be missing about one-quarter tank of fuel.

George Falk filed a vandalism report April 29. Falk told police that damage was done to his car while parked at his wife’s  place of employment.
