Police Beat: Man jailed for DUI

TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police officers arrested a local man Tuesday afternoon when they conducted a traffic stop on a possible drunk driver.

Danny P. Brittain, 50, of Tahlequah, was arrested for driving under the influence. Police said Brittain had a breath-alcohol content of .33, more than four times the legal limit.

Nalda Nofire, 40, of Tahlequah, was arrested Tuesday evening for allegedly shoplifting from Wal-Mart.

Officers spoke to Shannon Dawson this week after Dawson said a rock was thrown at his vehicle and caused damage to the trunk lid.

Police took a report this week about an employee at Morris-Cragar Flowers taking $6,300 from the business.

Lori Clinton told police Tuesday that her storage unit was burglarized.

Police spoke to a 16-year-old girl recently after she found a man inside the garage of her family’s home. The suspect fled before police arrived.
