TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s investigators filed a report this week about alleged forgery on credit card applications.

Randy Hammock told investigators a woman applied for two department-store credit cards using his name and a forged signature, and used one of them to charge up about $500 worth of merchandise. He said one of the companies is now contacting him about overdue payments.

In other matters, Brittany Dunavin spoke to deputies this week after she was assaulted by a man and woman. Dunavin said the woman shoved her to the ground, punched her, and kicked her. The man busted a car window on Dunavin’s vehicle, then allegedly kicked Dunavin before she was able to get away.

Joshua Duffield spoke to deputies this week about his property being broken into. Duffield said stoves, furniture, and a cutting torch were taken.
