Break-in nets arrest

TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Tahlequah man Friday after he allegedly broke into a woman’s home.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Tom Moore responded to investigate a possible protective order violation but was told the suspect, 34-year-old Fletcher C. Ordean, had left in a vehicle.

Moore said he came across Ordean’s truck as it was stopped in the road. Ordean then allegedly turned around and drove away. Moore stopped Ordean, who allegedly smelled of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet.

Ordean said he had consumed at least a 12 pack of alcohol, and told Moore he was “not taking your d--- [state’s] test.”

The victim told deputies she was sleeping on her couch when she awoke and realized Ordean was standing over her. Ordean allegedly entered her home through a bedroom window, and left when authorities were called.

Ordean was booked for driving under the influence second or subsequent, first-degree burglary, and driving under revocation. Moore said Ordean has been arrested for DUI twice in the last two years, including once in July of this year.
