Police respond to hit-and-run crashes

TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police responded to a couple of hit-and-run crashes Monday.

At around 9 a.m., Clifford Short said he was parked on the south end of the parking lot at Lowe’s when a green Chevrolet truck back into his vehicle and left the scene. Short was unable to get tag information, but said the driver of the truck was probably in his 60s with overalls and no shirt. The driver who left also had carpet in his truck bed.

At around 4:50 p.m., Chandra Scroggins called police and said an Oldsmobile or Lincoln car hit the side of her van, then took off. Scroggins told police the woman driver the car that left was in her 20s and had two small children in the car.

Nancy Anderson filed a report recently when a neighbor damaged her vehicle door.

Kandis Gritts filed an assault report Monday.

Cristina Balderas spoke with police Monday after a man showed up at her residence and walked into the front door. Balderas said she has a protective order against the man.
