Man jailed after scuffle

TAHLEQUAH — A Tahlequah man was arrested by sheriff’s deputies last week after a scuffle.

Daniel Vann Laporte, 30, was booked into jail for domestic in the presence of a minor, public intoxication, obstruction, assault on a police officer, and resisting arrest. Deputies said Laporte ran from them, resisted them, and headbutted one of the officers. He later tried to escape from them, and tried to break out of a patrol unit after he was buckled in.

In other matters, Joshua Woods filed a fraud report last week.

Deputies filed a death-investigation report last week on Mickey Lee Scroggins Jr., 28, of Locust Grove. The report lists Scroggins’ manner of death as suicide.
