Tahlequah police on Wednesday arrested a man on an outstanding Cherokee County warrant, later adding a charge of possession of a controlled and dangerous substance in a jail facility.
Marcus Allen Stopp was arrested on the warrant by Officer Jake Keys outside Blackhawk Liquor. Keys’ report states that upon arrival at the Cherokee County Detention Center, a round white pill was found in the front left pocket of Stopp’s shorts by Detention Officer Kyle Whitmire. Keys logged the pill into evidence to be sent to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation for analysis, and the additional charge was filed.
On Wednesday, police arrested Alonso Mendez at the intersection of West Avenue and Bean Street for DUI under age 21 and no valid driver’s license.
Cleo Gomez of Hulbert was placed under arrested Wednesday for public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Thursday, Teresa Lamont entered the police department to report she had been threatened.
A complaint was received on Tuesday from Sharon Vandevender that her vehicle was struck on the driver’s side while parked outside Tahlequah South Head Start.
