Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies spoke to a woman this week who said two people stole her food stamp card while she was in jail.
Victoria James said she spent about two weeks in jail, and during that time, the suspects took her card from her home. When she confronted the two, they made a verbal agreement to repay her, and also allowed her to keep a car as collateral. James said she later discovered that not only did the car not run, but it didn’t belong to the suspects.
Deputies spoke to Tina Tracey on Tuesday about the theft of medication from her residence.
